Good wood – also in economic terms

The wood processing industry is one of Germany’s most important economic sectors. The range of wood-based products includes chipboard, fibreboard and thermal insulation boards, all of which are based on wood chips and fibres as raw materials. 

For years now, the energy-efficiency sector has been struggling with cost increases – driven by soaring electricity and gas prices. This calls for effective solutions.

Our experience in the construction of new drying drums and optimisation of existing ones means that we are not only able to increase the efficiency of a drum by making a number of adjustments but are also able to reduce its energy consumption. 

We can reduce energy consumption by approx. 10% thanks to a combination of process engineering and design modifications. At the same time, by maintaining the highest standards of quality and fine-tuning wear-critical components, we increase plant availability. This means that we achieve a higher chip throughput of up to 50t/h despite high moisture content.
